“Just getting the opportunity to stay at the Whittier Wonder was a vacation in itself — it was really special! This Victorian home has been completely renovated and has been creatively decorated in every room from corner to corner and top to bottom. Six of us stayed for a long weekend and were very comfortable in the 3 bedrooms. The kitchen is large and had everything we needed to cook Sunday brunch. The living spaces are pleasant and comfortable, and it was fun just to look at the details and artwork. There are lots of amenities and nice touches (nice bath towels, board games in the closet, books and local magazines, hair dryer and bath products, kitchen supplies). The weather was a little chilly for sitting outside, but the backyard and patio would be perfect in warmer weather. The neighborhood was very quiet, and there are several small parks nearby. Parking near the house was easy. Light rail to downtown is just about 2 blocks away, and we walked to City Park (35 minutes) and could walk to River North Arts District, we enjoy walking. We found that it was a great location to base our visits to various parts of the city. The host was very helpful and quick to respond to a few questions we had before arriving. It was a great stay, and I would be very happy to stay there again. I hope we have the chance to do that!”
